Economics I Policy I Politics in Washington, DC

I'm a Brazilian-Italian economist, behavioural and political scientist helping governments, citizens, and corporations work better together in the Americas.

Since 2009, I've been serving as a Head of Governance Innovation Unit at the Organization of American States, teaching at GW The Graduate School of Political Management, and mentoring bright young talents from Georgetown McDonough School of Business, Harvard Kennedy School, IE University, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Fundación Botín Santander, and Fundación Kybernus Salinas. Before moving to the US, I held professional and academic assignments with the Brazilian Development Bank, Getulio Vargas Foundation, IBM Consulting Group, and Robert Fleming-Graphus Investment Bank.

I've also consulted on an ad-hoc basis for global companies (Shell, Vodafone, Roche) and helped senior and mid-career executives from business associations in Brazil (AMCHAM, CNI, CNA) to improve their soft skills in corporate diplomacy, negotiation, influence, scenario planning, communication, innovation, and crisis/change management.

More than 1200 leaders worldwide have participated in my leadership workshops and mentoring sessions - including the Shipibo tribe's chiefs in the Peruvian Amazon, female candidates to Congress in Mozambique, and the Venezuelan youth diaspora in exile.

My professional and academic interests are interdisciplinary, covering economics, policy, politics, psychology, and - more recently - moral philosophy and theology. I'm particularly interested in institutional economics, polycentric governance, behavioural policy, collective action in complex systems, and ethical dilemmas applied to wicked societal problems, policy puzzles, and business development.

After spending some time in Geneva, Hanói, and Santiago, I'm currently based in Washington, DC, while globe-trotting between London, Milan, Madrid, Panama City, and Rio (my hometown) for the benefit of American Airlines shareholders.
